How've you been these last few weeks?

I'm feeling a lot better now that you guys are all back. It was really starting to get too quiet here.

It was starting to get very crowded on the other side.

[There were a lot of deaths towards the back end.......]

But, I'm glad I get to talk to you in person. Letters are nice, but there's such a delay.

Well, now it's extra crowded here. [ but the vibes are fond. ] I get what you mean, though. I don't think I really like writing letters - it's really not the same as just talking. Finding the right words is a lot harder.

You can really stall out on writing a letter... there's so much time to think about what you want to say.

Even writing a text doesn't feel like as much pressure.

It's weird, right? Why is texting so much easier? It's practically the same thing.

Maybe because you know you'll get a response back quickly? But a letter takes so much time?

Maybe. It's a little less pressure that way, maybe. I always felt like I needed to have something important to say in the letters, but I never really did...

You spent a lot of time baking in the healing center, huh?

It doesn't have to be that important. Sometimes it's just nice to hear from a friend.

That was more baking than I've ever done before, not too much else to do.

Sure, but I'm still used to just being able to talk in person.

Yeah... Some of the cookies were a little burnt? But it's more than I could have done.

No, it's fine. I'm not really one to judge, anyway. I only just learned how to make rice balls, like, a week or two ago.

Honestly, I would have rather been bored than not.

We were both learning some new skills while we had the time.

I guess. I don't think they're things I'd need back home, but if it gives us something to do here.

Sometimes you learn things, not because they're needed, but because they're enjoyable.

You all keep telling me stuff like that, but I still think running is usually plenty.

...I did learn some stuff about flowers, I guess, but I still don't think I'm good at making bouquets or anything.

Did you like learning about them?

I guess? [ he shrugs. ] It was fine. Kind of helped me keep the different demiflora straight, too, since I've been reading about them.

There are a lot of flowers out there. I don't know if I could keep them all straight.

It's not like I've memorized them all. I could maybe name the common ones, or the ones demiflora or named after, but the rest? No way.

...Yeah. It's something. Not really how I would've wanted to spend my time, still, but it gave me something to do.

Most of the week was usually pretty quiet... I'm glad you found something for all that down time.

Everyone kept telling me to learn how to cook, too. I managed a few things with some help, but I don't think I'll ever be a master chef.

You don't have to be a master at it. I don't think I'll ever get an award for baking, but it was fun.
