The one with black hair? That's Iris. [ they've spoken briefly of him before. ] I don't know the other guy personally. He didn't live in the Tower - he's some criminal who broke into the Tower. A murderer.

Do you know why he was in the Tower?

[outdistanced]

Not really. [ ... ] I can guess, maybe, but I don't know for sure. No one's said.

...That he wanted to steal something from the Tower.

[ on another mirror, a little further off and easy to miss, they may be able to see a room full of cases of pink eyes. ]

I don't know if I'm right, or if he actually got what he came for. But he just... took Iris with him, when he left.

[ It's easy to miss, but her eyes are sharp. ]

... Iris looked like he wanted to go with him.

Yeah, well. That guy's a Lily. He could make Iris want to go with him.

A... lily?

[She knows the flower, but she can't pin down why it would matter.]

[ ...sighs. ]

A Lily demiflora. They can hypnotize someone into doing or saying or believing anything they want.

All of them can do that?

[outdistanced]

Yeah. It's what they're known for. The pink eyes are a dead giveaway.

... That's what that crate of eyes was about?

[outdistanced]

[ he flinches. ]

It's... related. A lot of demiflora are hunted for body parts - or, I've heard they'll sell parts of their bodies before they're taken, outside the Tower. The people that take them are called spawncampers - they make money off of it, because those parts can still hold their power. And a Lily's power to hypnotize is in their eyes.

[She files the finch away.]

... But isn't this inside of the Tower?

[She's only curious.

Are you all getting harvested, or what?]

[outdistanced]

...Yeah. It is.

[fightolive]

[ She looks at him, curious and worried. ]

[outdistanced]

[ a heavy sigh. ]

It's not common knowledge. But apparently Madam's been harvesting parts from some of the demiflora in the Tower if they break the rules or learn too much about what she's doing. She sells them to spawncampers.

Are you really sure you want to stay?

[outdistanced]

[ bites out, ]

I don't have anywhere else to go right now, okay?

[ Well. She's been there too. ]

I understand.

[ The mirror shifts to showing a different sort of scene to 1:233:01. Firefly being cornered by some watchmen before the Trailblazer comes over to assist them. There's a certain sort of joy in seeing them- something like reuniting with an old friend, even if they don't seem to recognize her. ]

[ does she? he has to wonder, but the mirror's already changed. ]

You act like you know them, but...

We used to know each other. I was just happy to see them again.

[outdistanced]

But not anymore?

[ sounds a little different than his situation with iris? ]

[fightolive]

They forgot everything about their life and started a new one.

[Amnesia, more or less.]
