Man, the suits are cool. And the kaiju, how they glow. Can't remember the word for it, but it's great.

[ absently, ] They kind of look like those things in Kaworu's world.

[ he would ask what a kaiju is but "giant monster" seems to fit well enough. the logistics of fighting these things seem a little wonky to him, but maybe this is the way if you don't have powers...

[ ah. he hasn't seen them, but kaworu mentioned pilots... so that's what it was? oh he really does not want to unpack that now. filed away for later.

they're big-ass monsters! even with powers that'd be hard probably, right. and yeah he's not as excited as he might have been in better circumstances but he's still into it. ]

I'm kind of glad we don't have these things in my world. Seeing one of these fights in real life would be freaky.

Not quite, but... [ snaps his fingers. ] Bioluminescence. It was in my biology textbook.

Yeah, definitely. But it's cool in fiction, the scale of it and all the different ways they fight.

[ i don't know if they teach biology in the tower. maybe the very basics, but deep ocean probably never came up. ]

[ the fights do get progressively more elaborate, each monster having a new form, etc. it's monster fightin'. he's into it. ]

The effort in designing all this is super impressive. Imagining choreography at that scale.

[ he's still a teenager of course this is cool as long as it isn't real. though some of the monster designs do freak him out a little, making him recoil a bit from the screen. ]

What's fencing? [ he's picturing people jumping over fences and is very confused about it. ] Regular fights I could see, yeah. Just never thought someone might plan something like that.

Fencing's a sport using swords. It's French, I think.

[ all that fancy rich person stuff was french in his mind.

he hums in acknowledgement, point sort of made, but then tilts his head. his tone is a little sombre despite the action on screen. ]
