he shifts his hold, rearranges them a bit. it's not really a sleeping hold, yet, but a comfortable one anyway. seems he's been anxious about cuddling. ]

We haven't done it yet, but... Taair and I were talking about going to pick up some flowers for everyone returning tomorrow. Just something extra to welcome them back with, I guess.

I did help Fidelio make a good luck charm earlier.

[ a breath. his arms loosen a little, moving to drape more loosely across laurence's chest, legs shifting to hook one pair of their ankles together. ]

What was the charm made of?

It's really not my usual thing... Some of them might appreciate it, though.

[ then again he's also just not used to dealing with death. or he wasn't before here. ]

It was just a paper rose, but he said he was going to cover it in sand, too. I think Yves told him to ask me for help with it.

[ he kept the amaryllis in the back of his sketchpad until it started to break down. the imprint it left on the paper is... somewhere. ]

Because because the charm is supposed to be a sand rose, apparently. A rock that looks like a rose, but he said they're rare, so paper would work just as well.

Oh, that's cool. Gettin' close enough works just fine. Charms like that are really about the thought behind it.

[ he stills for a moment, at the unfinished explanation, but then remembers roses and makes a neutral, acknowledging sound. yeah nope that's fine

Not like that's stopping it anyway. [ sigh. ] But no, I just mean more... guess it's not really about asking. I'm worried about you too, is all.

[ he's quiet again, for a moment. the thoughts he's trying to word sort of half-manifest, vague senses of care, concern, fondness. ]

Nothing in particular, but I know you don't like people fussin' over you. So I'm just telling you now, that you really can come to me with anything. [ maybe being cuddly just turns him kind of sappy. maybe it's the emotional drain of the day. maybe it was the sight of trust being broken, again. ] Guess it's a little late to say, but. Mm.

[ boy he really is being sappy huh. unfortunate how it makes laurence's heart kind of flutter. ]

I know. I trust you with pretty much everything already.

[ yeah. he hits a point of exhaustion before actually being sleepy that just makes him kind of like this. he'll angle his head to press a little kiss to laurence's jaw. ]

What d'you wanna do most when everyone's back?

Man, I have no idea. A bunch of them asked me to show them the new places, but... maybe it'd be nice to have one of those parties with everyone again, too?

but he nods. it does sound nice, to just have a celebration, once things were a little more figured out perhaps. ]

Maybe somewhere like the park or the garden. Or Italy.

Italy's so big I'd just have to hope no one gets lost there. But it might be nice, if we even have time for it. Still gotta find Ariel.
