eventually, he shifts to run a hand through his hair. hhhh ]

[ it makes him flinch, pleasantly? the laugh. it's so unexpected, but completely relieving, that he looks back kind of startled.

There's a breakin' point for this stuff. Just came to a conclusion and had to get it out before it wound me up like an idiot. [ ... ] I did kind of think you might. But it still surprised me.

[ this is... kind of a relief, isn't it? to have it out there, to let themselves have a little moment of something not so goddamn miserable for once.

it makes it a little easier to face him for real, as he curls his fingers around chrono's. ]

[ someone's gotta shut chrono up somehow. so he doesn't wait for a third invitation, he just leans in to press their lips together, a little squeeze of their hands betraying his nervousness. he is really going to just expire after this. ]

it's impossible to not laugh lightly into it, free hand coming up immediately to rest on laurence's jaw. guidance, reassurance? more teasing? a little bit of everything. he kisses back with ease, but his heart is thundering anyway and if laurence's face wasn't already so red he's sure the heat from his own would be scalding.

it's a simple kiss, chrono not wanting to push too much for now. he draws away, not too far, smirk unable to be contained. ]

[ why does that laugh make something flutter in his stomach? he's embarrassed but kind of happy but also just! wow! a lot of feelings happening and if he thinks about any of them too hard he's going to explode!

it already feels like he's well on the way there. his face is burning, his heart is going to hammer its way out of his chest, but it's... nice. it is nice, but the comment out loud really just makes him groan and bury his face into chrono's shoulder. ]

[ he'll drop his cheek atop laurence's hair, idly playing with their linked hands. he's somehow so content, despite every other tempestuous emotion not leaving him. it's not the conclusion he expected, but no way in hell is he complaining at all. ]

huffs out another breathy laugh, but he's weirdly okay with this with those first few steps out of the way. those were the hardest parts, so he just shifts a little to be more comfortable here. close. ]
