Sounds exhausting. [ ... ] Do you really get into dangerous stuff like that? I've been in fights, but - not ones that could get anyone killed.

It's not like I go lookin' for it. [ so, yes. ] But I used to have a -- not really a superpower, or anythin', but a... connection, that a bunch of people wanted to use. I didn't even know about it at first because no one ever tells me anythin' straight.

[ sighs. he is really so tired. ]

So dangerous stuff just kept kinda happenin' around me, and my friends and I ended up havin' to fix it just 'cause we were stuck in it anyway.

When I was a kid, I accidentally made this... bridge, I guess, between Earth and this planet called Cray. It's just somethin' I did by wantin' to help, and this little guy from the other side called Dran reached out the same way I did. I don't really remember it very well, but that connection could generate a lot of energy and made this kind of... fated link, I guess. The planets would influence each other.

I mean, nah, there was a ton of things that lined up to cause it.

[ crosses his arms and. thinks real hard. his memory is really spotty about it. ]

My dad and his... lab partner, they were tryin' to find Cray and make a new energy source usin' people's ability to visualise. I think I was in the lab one day, so they put me in an amplifier thing and had me try to reach out - turns out my visualisation is a lot better than most, so... it like. Called out to Dran, 'cause I wanted to make a friend. I was only, like, four.

That sounds a little messed up. Experimenting on a kid... especially if it made you a target like that.

...yeah. It caused a lot of problems, but I wouldn't be where I am-- was, I guess, if it hadn't happened.

No, it’s fine. It sounds like everyone’s worlds are all a little weird. Even mine’s been getting some odd looks.

I think most people would be pretty mad about something like that, anyway.
