[ comes over closer to the machine. what are we shooting? ]

I've never played one like this before, either, so it'll be a first for both of us.

[ looks like it might be about zombies? he picks up one of the gun controllers and hands the other to her! ]

Apparently there's no tutorial stage on these things, so we can just let loose.

[ holds this gun... ]

Are we to shoot people?

Looks like zombies to me. So aim for the freaks who don't look normal.

[ pauses. euphausia has three eyes does she know what normal is.

she holds the gun, looking a little uncertain as the game starts. then a zombie lunges at them, and she shoots with a surprised yelp! it goes down. ]

Oh... I got it...

[ there are like four more coming. arcade shooters don't give much time to reflect. ]

Week 0, Friday

[ It's been a few hours since our dead announcement and Eupha's in the mansion common area, looking at her phone. ]

It seems there is still no word from the angels... I suppose we will need to wait for tomorrow to learn anything more.

... I'm not quite sure what to do with myself in the meantime.

Me, either. It's kind of hard to focus on anything else.

I just keep wondering what happened.

Yes... There were a number of strange happenings that night. Doors locking, unseen barriers, and people falling into unnatural slumber... I fear it was no coincidence, but I don't know what that means, exactly.

So I've heard.

...They've been telling me not to go anywhere alone until we know. You should probably stick with someone else, too, if you can, since apparently Heaven isn't as safe as we thought.

That is worrying... but I suppose caution is reasonable, if we don't know what the cause could be.

It's better to be safe than sorry. And I don't think any of us want anyone else getting hurt, either. The less of us doing something reckless, the better.

I-I'm sorry! They were coming right at us, and I just reacted...

They're just in the game.

[ picks himself up. ]

Maybe a little bruised, but I'll be fine.

I feared that they might jump out at any moment...

[ Eupha can be found looking around the village in the evening, when the skeletons are all set out! She stares at a skeleton snake... ]

How strange. What creature could leave remains like this...?

No, no, it's just a screen. They're not real.
